Karen Peters

I was born in Minnesota and graduated from Okabena High School. I went to college at Concordia Teacher College in Seward, Nebraska, and my first teaching position was at Trinity Lutheran School in Bloomfield. Bloomfield is where my met husband Daryle.

I took a break from teaching to devote to my family. My family includes Daryle, who is an auctioneer and also runs Peters Lawn Service. My oldest daughter Christina and her husband Ed live in Lincoln. Chris works for the Child Support Center and Ed is a Security Guard. They have three children Gavin, Marlana and Conner. My second daughter Alison is married to Roger Lange and they live on a farm near Fordyce. Alison works at the First National Bank in Yankton. They have two boys Ethan and Garret and one daughter Eliza Kay. My son Jon lives in Lincoln and works for the software company. He and Regina have one son Greyson.

In 1978 I became the 6 th grade teacher at Wausa. My job description changed in 2003 and now I teach 6 th grade Language Arts, Reading, and Math. I also teach all the elementary computer classes and am in charge of overseeing the computers and computers programs.

I am also busy as State Treasurer for Rho State Delta Kappa Gamma, State Treasurer for the Nebraska Auctioneers Auxiliary, Lutheran Women Missionary League, Thrivent congregational coordinator, clerking sales for Peters Auction Service, and I am enjoying my family.
