National Honor Society Pledge
I pledge myself always to seek the light of truth, to hold scholarly habits, to engage in worthy service, and to lead forward in all things that shall advance the welfare of the school, the well-being of my community, and the honor of my country.
Eligibility
To be eligible for membership, the candidate must be a member of those classes, (10, 11, 12) designated as eligible in the chapter bylaws. Candidates must have a cumulative scholastic average of at least 90% or the equivalent standard of excellence (3.0 on a 4.0 scale). Candidates shall then be evaluated on the basis of service, leadership, and character. Selection of each member to the chapter shall be by a majority vote of the faculty council. A description of the selection procedure shall be published in an official school publication, which is widely available in timely fashion to all students and parents of the school. Wausa Public Schools has chosen 90% or its equivalent standard on a 4.0 scale for the cumulative scholastic average necessary for consideration in being a member of National Honor Society as the first step in the selection process.
